Victoria Principal was a fan favorite on the TV soap series Dallas, where she played Pamela Barnes Ewing for nearly a decade until her exit in 1987. She went on to produce her own films, including Naked Lie, Sparks: The Price Of Passion, and Blind Witness in the late ‘80s, while also putting her writing talent to good use.
The two-time Golden Globe nominee directed her focus to the beauty industry and launched her skincare line, Principal Secret, in 1989. With a vast knowledge of fitness and wellness, which she shared in her book series, The Body Principal, The Beauty Principal, and The Diet Principal, it is no surprise that Principal still looks just as gorgeous in her mid-seventies.
Victoria Principal reflects on playing Pam in ‘Dallas’
While Dallas ended in 1991, Pam still looks back on playing Pam with fondness. She admitted to falling in love with the script and her role without hesitation, and “could not imagine not being Pam.” Principal only enjoyed her first seven years on set, after which showwriters began to leave, causing an obvious spiral in the quality of scripts. The very reason Principal jumped on the gig was no more, hence her cue to leave for other endeavors.
Principal focused most of her attention on her production and beauty businesses. However, she still did some acting on the side, including an appearance on the hit series Home Improvement. She also guest starred on Family Guy, Providence and a few comedy sketches. She finally left Hollywood in the early 2000s to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams and philanthropic ventures.
